What is meant by the term E-Learning? It is an electronic mode of learning which is referred to as E-Learning, it is usually associated with the requisite of an internet connection in the virtual world. It is a sound learning system that is self-paced and based on practical learning. It can be classified into two types which are: Synchronous and Asynchronous learning. Synchronous learning is the mode where the learner and the tutor interact with each other in real-time, from varying locations. Asynchronous learning is when learners take up completely self-paced online education. Therefore, in the subsequent case, the learner and the tutor are not present at the same platform, at the same time.

The emergence of the term E-Learning already took place in 1999, following that many words have been originated to be a precise representation of the term, like virtual education or online learning. The traditional methods of learning used to be via correspondence also known as distance courses where the learners and the tutors interacted via emails and calls. This must not be a great deal in 2021 but it was in fact a big obstacle in the early times where it was tough to make effective communication since any education is ineffective in the case of irregular communication.

2021 was a year of monumental changes in almost every industry, additionally, it left a lasting mark on the educational industry. Educational institutions in India have perpetually been established on the traditional means of learning, which is, face-to-face interactions between the learners and tutors in a classroom. The abrupt eruption of the Covid-19 pandemic brought a shift to the online form of education overnight, it forced all of us to realize that online education is not an alternative anymore but more of a compulsion.
