An assembly is a component that contains inserts of other components. Assembling is the process of putting a large number of single parts together to make a machine or any other product. Assembly modeling in CAD is about using components to virtually group geometric entities in hierarchies. This course teaches you how to use CATIA to conceptualize top-down design assembly where the design intent comes from the top (the assembly) and moves down (into the parts).
